Workshops for Adults and Children The Puppet Academy This new club for young people will bring puppets alive! During this first term you will have the opportunity of gaining an introduction into all aspects of puppetry. You will learn the difference between Kermit the Frog, Pinocchio and Chuckie, and have a go at lots of different puppetry styles. You will also get to work with professional puppeteers and see a variety of shows at LAT. The Puppet Academy is suitable for everyone aged 12 16. Dates and times: Tuesdays, 5.30 7.00 pm 16January to 26 MarchCost: £75 per person/£50.00 concessions (includes ticket for the show) Booking: Box Office: 0207 226 1787 Adult Beginners Puppet Club 1 This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in learning puppetry skills. Designed for absolute beginners, it is open to all those who have always wanted to have a go at puppetry but never had the opportunity to do so. Working with professional puppeteers, you will explore a variety of different puppet forms and learn the basics of puppet manipulation. Dates and times: Wednesday evenings, 7.30 9.30 pm 2nd October to 11th December (no class 23rd October) Cost: £150 per person/£100 concessions (includes 1 free show ticket) Booking: Box Office: 0207 226 1787 |
Adult Beginners Puppet Club 2 This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in developing puppetry skills. Designed for people who have attended Beginners 1 or who have completed an introduction to puppetry course elsewhere. Working with some guest puppeteers, you will continue to explore puppet forms as well as to start to develop simple ideas for performance (which will be showcased in early July at the end of Term 3) The Adult Puppet clubs are suitable for everyone aged 16 and over. Dates and times: Tuesday evenings, 7.30 - 9.30 pm 15th January to 25th March Booking: Box Office: 0207 226 1787 Saturday Puppet Club SPC members see Give us a Hand! before undertaking a 9 week challenge to create their own puppets and develop a short play for performance. The term culminates in a grand finale for friends and family. SPC is split into to 2 age groups 5 to 7s and 8 to 11s.
