MusicIP Open Fingerprint? Technology Awarded Patent

MusicIP Open Fingerprint™ Technology Awarded Patent

Monrovia, CA (PRWEB) April 3, 2006

MusicIP, the first global search engine for music, has been awarded U.S. Patent #7,013,301 for its Audio Fingerprinting System and Method that provides reliable, fast, and robust identification of digital musical tracks.

The technology in the patent identifies digital music tracks at the master-recording level, by the actual sounds in the track. Released as MusicIP’s affordable Open Fingerprint™ service, the method identifies the same piece of music, consistently, anywhere in the world regardless of language or format.

In a bold initiative this month, MusicIP released the Open Fingerprint Architecture™ into the marketplace with client libraries available under an Open Source license. This pioneering move provides the digital music industry with an effective, yet inexpensive identification mechanism which can be used by music enterprises of all kinds, including digital music stores, content delivery enterprises, and independent and micro-record labels .

With the Open Fingerprint Architecture, digital tracks can be identified consistently against MusicIP’s Music Digital Naming Service™ (MusicDNS) dataset of more than 17 million analyzed songs, providing a simple, dependable Web service to identify music tracks and provide basic metadata. Under the Open Source license options, the public-domain track metadata returned by MusicDNS can be used freely for any application needs.

“We are proud to offer our Open Fingerprint web service to the industry as an up-to-date, cost-effective alternative to the music identification databases on the market, “says Dr. Matthew Dunn, CEO of MusicIP. “We’re thrilled by the patent granted on the Open Fingerprint, as it is the foundation of our framework for improved music discovery and sales.”

Royalty Free Music Site Offers Internet Radio

Royalty Free Music Site Offers Internet Radio

(PRWEB) April 13, 2005

CSS Music, a leading provider of royalty free music for production of film, television, and corporate and multimedia applications, has announced what it calls “CSS Music Radio” on its web site at http://www.CSSMusic.com.

Billed as “Your Source for the Best Original Instrumental Music”, CSS Music Radio will resemble actual radio stations in many ways. DJ personalities, sweepers, sounders, and even brief commercials will all be programmed in conjunction with Rogue Amoeba’s Nicecast (the DJ) and Nullsoft’s Shoutcast (the radio transmitter).

Voice personalities located all over the United States will send their “liners” across the Internet to Program Director Marshall Such at the Dallas headquarters of Radio Potato, Inc., a firm specializing in radio station imaging since 1994.

“Marshall handles the programming and we get it out over the web,” explains Scott Fuller, On-Net Group’s Internet radio specialist. “Nicecast and Shoutcast are truly a dynamic duo when it comes to radio for the internet. It sounds like radio because it is radio, in the finest tradition. Soon, Radio Potato will be adding a jingle package to the station to put the frosting on the cake.”

CSS Music Radio will initially feature predominantly the royalty free music from the CSS Production Music Libraries, but it will also include interviews with CSS Music composers and various contributors from the film, television, and video industries. Eventually, some air time will be devoted to “talk radio” on a variety of film and television topics and some non-industry topics as well.

The CSS royalty free music library has more than 10,000 tracks and is growing all the time, making it one of the largest libraries of its kind in the world. The library includes some of the most popular music genres, which will be playing on CSS Music Radio 24 hours a day.

“I’ve been in radio for 30 years and in royalty free production music with CSS Music for the last 16,” said Radio Potato’s Marshall Such. “We’ve always known royalty free music made for some good listening, but now we can prove the point side by side with the commercially available music traditional radio plays.

“Royalty free music is album quality,” Such continued. “It has to be, since it’s used in film and television projects around the world. CSS composer David Wurst, for example, has more than fifty full-length motion picture scores to his credit and is currently working on two scores for Columbia Tri-Star.”

The CSS Royalty Free Music Library is available on CD, CD-ROM, and hard drive and can be downloaded on an individual track basis or by the CD volume. Royalty Free Music is licensed on a 99-year “lifetime blanket” basis for AV/Video, film, and TV. It is often also called “buyout” music.

About CSS Music

CSS Music, a Creative Support Services company, offers hundreds of volumes of royalty free music. Whether searching for downloadable music, CDs, CD-ROMs, or hard drives, CSS has a music library that fits any budget or demographic requirement. Browse royalty free music selections that are used in theatrical motion pictures and nationally syndicated television programs with outstanding music production values, find stock music for on-hold messages, include audio clips for sales presentations and multimedia, background music for event videos, or audio production and sound clips for web sites in CSS Music’s royalty free music libraries.

CSS Royalty Free Music production-quality tracks can all be previewed in their entirety at http://www.CSSMusic.com. A CD demo and catalog can also be requested online.
